At Glance

  • Based on BPS data in 2016, 4.3% of youth aged 15-19 years in Indonesia stated that they consumed alcohol at least once a month.
  • Alcohol consumption can increase the likelihood of developing other risky behaviors such as smoking, as well as injuries (such as traffic accidents).
  • In addition to the health consequences, alcohol consumption can seriously impact a person's finances, relationships, and social interactions.

Our Strategy

  • Increasing the knowledge and capacity of young people related to the prevention of alcohol consumption.
  • Increasing public awareness, especially teachers and parents, regarding the prevention of alcohol consumption.

Why focus on life without alcohol?

Alcohol is harmful to health. And there are many diseases and negative social behaviors associated with alcohol consumption. Alcohol is also very dangerous for young people because the brain will continue to develop during adolescence and into young adulthood. Alcohol consumption during this crucial growth period can impair brain function, affecting memory, motor skills (ability to move), and coordination.
